What is Baila con Bailey (BcB)?

COMMUNITY

A sense of community and establishing connections with others who have similar interests and goals can have lasting impacts on fitness, happiness, and confidence.  Working out in a group environment has several benefits including assisting in decreasing feelings of anxiety and depression more than exercising alone, and improving exercise program adherence due to increased feelings of joy, belonging, and accountability in a group setting.  Community fitness is a chance to let loose, leave your stress at the door (or use it to train harder with supporters rallied around you), form long-lasting bonds and commit to habitual exercise for life.  ¡Me encanta mi gente excelente!
BcB believes that music makes everything better. Music is a great distraction, and an even motivator.  "Baila con Bailey" translates to "Dance with Bailey" in Spanish, and while every format provided is not explicitly dance-related, all formats used by BcB use music and rhythm to drive every move, every workout, and every emotion. All workouts use beats per minute to determine intensity and speed, and 8 counts to design choreography and workout blocks.  Research shows that when participants move synchronously with the rhythm of the music in a repetitive pattern, biomechanical and neuromuscular movement economy and efficiency are improved versus exercises that do not follow the pace of the music. This can result in increased energy efficiency, due to decreased energy expenditure. It has also been shown that  moving with the beat of the music can contribute to a feeling of euphoria.
Comprehensive fitness has countless physical, mental, and emotional benefits. BcB uses an integrated fitness approach, ensuring that all components of fitness are included across all formats offered including: cardiorespiratory endurance, resistance training, flexibility, plyometrics, SAQ (speed, agility, and quickness), balance, and core training. Proper movement preparation and recovery are also essential to reduce risk of injury and overtraining. All formats include more than one component of integrated fitness, but participation in various formats is highly encouraged for a true well-rounded fitness experience.
Creativity is the core of the BcB philosophy-everything in life is a work of art and a work-in-progress simultaneously.  All BcB workouts are designed and delivered using a creative lens to provide experiences that blend fitness and art in exciting and new ways. BcB  hopes participants not only feel comfortable embracing and sharing their creativity, but crave coming back for more.
BcB believes fitness shouldn't be based on how it makes you look-but how you feel. When implemented correctly, fitness improves intrinsic motivation and growth-mindset, which are crucial to establishing healthy habits that are maintained for life. True fitness improves all dimensions of health and wellness, and helps you continuously set (and crush) SMART goals that you never thought were possible. Fitness is about living life on YOUR terms.

Who is Bailey?

Liza Mae & Bai Bai (Sugar Light Photography) #2.JPG

My name is Bailey, and I am the founder, owner, and  creative director of Baila con Bailey! Dance has been an integral part of my life since I was three years old-I took my first ballet class and knew I had found my calling. Over the next 15 years, I trained in various styles such as hip-hop, poms, tap, ballet, pointe, and jazz. While I did dance at the competitive level in high school, it was never about the competition for me-I just wanted to move and connect with the music.

After high school, I began teaching dance in studio to kiddos ages two to 17 years old. I taught hip-hop, poms, ballet and tap at various levels for five years. I also attended Metropolitan State University of Denver while teaching, and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Human Performance and Sport with Concentration in K-12 Physical Education in December 2017. I began teaching K-8 Physical Education in January of 2018, and continued to teach for seven years at two different K-8 schools in APS. I also continued to coach competitive dance at the high school level, and went back to coaching the showcase team at my previous studio until 2020. In 2025, I decided it was time for something new, and got my Zumba Basic 1, Zumba Kids, and Zumba Kids Jr. certifications and began teaching Zumba to kiddos and adults. Zumba stole my heart, giving me the freedom to still teach dance, fitness, and creative movement with my own flair, on my own terms. I got my Group Fitness Instructor certification through AFAA in July 2026, and through a combination of obtaining this certification and teaching Zumba, realized my true passion is teaching rhythmic group fitness to all ages.

I am currently living my best life with my support system-my mama (who encouraged me to get my Zumba certification and shared her love of dance with me throughout my life), my soul dog, Liza Mae, and my wonderful family and friends who encourage me to continue chasing my dreams. I love pink, dogs, dancing, running, the number 8, and anything that allows me to express myself creatively. My eventual goal is to open my own studio and continue to expand my craft and brand. My mission is to share my love of music and movement with others in an engaging, safe, inclusive, and progressive environment that makes you forget you're even exercising. Rhythm and dance aren't about being the best, they're about allowing the music and movement to help you FEEL your best-whatever that means to YOU.
